Yet no one explained the inconvenience of gaming PC not being as durable as consoles, plagued with virus world and being a lot bigger to fit on a home theather without looking ugly. Besides the sexyness of PlayStations and minimalism of the WiiU and Wii.

Funny that people love to say they don't derail threads while doing exactly that.

Kowen your reason to doubt the boost was because no way x1 would do worst than the other 2 right? So you just guessed right, no need to gloat.

Entirely subjective, virii are for children who don't know how to protect their machines.  Seriously, it's 2014, not 2001.   My PC is also every bit as durable as a console (in fact, I don't recall ever having as much problems with my PC, as RRoD).  As far as home theater, again, subjective, anyone with an ounce of skill can put a PC together in any kind of form factor they desire to be aesthetically pleasing.

Talking in durability more in the relevance+longeivity not only not breaking (my PCs were usable for 10years and in my company we have some PCs that are over 30y in daily use... altough they are almost like consoles dedicated to a single function), like keeping the same equipment for 10 years and be sure everything will run as if as possible without any special hassle and nostalgic feelings to play really old games as they were ment when you pick your older gen stored.

I haven't seem any desktop assembly as pleasing as any consoles, specially PSs, Ninties and Segas, and almost in all cases the equivalent machine will be a lot bigger and more inconvenient to put in the home looking good. But sure you can always encase it in some forgotten side drawer with enough ventilation and bluetooth/wiifi peripherics, but all that add to the bother of having a PC on the TV (altough I usually put my notebook on the tv to watch some things or use the media capabilitie through PS3).

But we can't ignore that all that adds for some people not wanting to put a PC in their main room... and we don't need much "evidence" to know how uncommun is to have someone with this kind of set on the general population and that may justify a person that mainly play multiplats buying console instead of gaming pcs.
