Everything Nintendo doesn't do (for whatever reason) seems to be an impossible task and gets a pass from most vocal Nintendo fans.

should have said it would be difficult to patch. as i said, though, many of the games have built-in achievements systems (smash bros., pikmin 3, wonderful 101, tropical freeze, 3d world) which it would be difficult to integrate into a single coherent universal sysem. i'm not giving them a pass, i was responding to a remark by someone else that nintendo fans want or demand achievements, and making the point that that's nowhere near the top of any nintendo fan's 'demands.' more games probably is, and more are coming.
