Yeah, the measures MS had to take in order to go toe-to-toe with the PS4 are really huge. Meanwhile, Sony just kept patient and sent out huge shipments of PS4s to each retailer for Black Friday. The probem with MS's strategy is that it is not sustainable nor efficient. What about from January to end of October? Heck, an X1 victory in December is even less likely than a November victory. You cannot rely on just 2 of 12 months, especially when you offer huge discounts and deals during those two months.

its not like they really have a choice. they were getting slaughtered through out the year, they had a massive third party exclusive and gave it away for free, still lost. a 100$ price cut, still lost. and this is the only territory along with the UK that they can even compete in (maybe brazil, not sure). so they sure as hell are gonna slash prices in the biggest two years to try make up for all the lost months.

they fucked up when making the console, they fucked up big time and its as simple as that, and now they are literally paying the price for it. like DD_bwest, last year to get an xb1 and a game to play you had to pay 560, now you could have gotten it for 280$ ( thats with the target 50$ gift card deducted from the xb1 price) with two games, not just one. its not like microsoft really have a choice.

Oh no. I wasn't saying that MS shouldn't have done these deals. I mean it's great for the consumers so why complain? I'm just saying that this type of strategy is not sustainable nor efficient. So unless MS goes back on their word that these bundles cost $329-$349 until January, it's going to be a long 2015 for them.
