This was at around 2PM.

Considering that the PS4 is lighting up the charts online, yet hasn't sold out, I'm going with some beastly shipments.  And a place like NewEgg, which is hardly the mecca of console sales, has over 10K of them.

I'm with you on this one, it appears that Walmart was, too:
