Not really. You've just got to make sure to always have a potion on you for emergencies and not be afraid to grind some areas for hearts if your low on life.
You'd probably like it. It's all about open enviroment, exploring, using candles to burn random bushes, bombs to blow up walls... pushing blocks for switches...
the level of secrets in that game is amazing.
You definitly get your worth in time for the price. Plus once you beat the game you type your name as "Zelda" and you get to play the game agian in "Hard Mode" where a bunch of things are changed including the locations of the hidden dungeons.
