Is Square-Enix due for a Nintendo franchise revival?

The profit has to be enough to jusify the years of development time, which I doubt it would.  Also I'm sure SE is aware Nintendo does not have a good track record of advertising their third party exclusives. 

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance actually had amazing advertising.

That was a handheld game, they specifically said this will be a console game.  They put out Wonderful 101 to die right next to GTAV and I've never seen a Hyrule Warriors or Bayonetta 2 ad.  I wouldn't be surprised if Platinum went to MS with Scalebound and not the other way around, they know MS's advertisement machine will be behind them, just like it was for Insomniac with Sunset Overdrive.
