Disagree. When I played Returns, people around here didn't even realize it wasn't the same game as Tropical Freeze. As beautiful as Tropical Freeze is, the only visual improvements it has over it's predecessor are the HD rendering and textures and the fur shading. Which is enough to make the game pretty much as good-looking as it can actually be with that artstyle, but still.

Then your friends are extremely blind. DKC: R barely has any textures at all. I can't even stand to play that game on my HD tv because of the jaggies.

Besides, Super Mario Galaxy in 1080p and 4x AA looks amazing as well:
