Well the 3DS has an install base of 40 million, so that makes sense...

The 705k frist 2 day is US only
Ur 40 million install base figure is worldwide

 

3DS has still sold far more than Wii U has in the USA.

500k in US against 702k in US means the Wii U SSB will probably outsell the 3DS SSB. Or would do if they had the same installbase.
