You might be right in terms of how they lump together diffrent megaman games, and others like sonic, and it would be nice if they were consistant, but there are many other games in the image that don't (to my knollage) deserve to be split up like assassins creed.
Even if you include all the spin offs and remakes/remasters for the Zelda and Metroid franchises, you only get only a small number considering the years they've been around. Yet you do hear the Zelda rehash rehash rehash crap. A non-biased image, where they split up the Megaman games and sonc games would still illustrate this.
As for lumping Maro platformers with Wario and yoshi, to me that seems a bit like taking all the batman games ever made, from the nes game to the ackham games, and puting them in the same franchiese.
