Years ago we just wanted to play/experience new games...it didn't matter what console...Atari, Colecovision, Intellivision, Commodore, Nintendo, Sega....we didn't care. We just wanted to play as much as we could no matter who made it. I don't remember 'Fanboyism' coming into play until the PS2/N64/Dreamcast era I guess. And now it is ridiculously out of control but unfortunately I think it is here to stay. It sounds corny and ridiculous but teach your kids to enjoy games based on how fun they are and not soley by whose logo is on the box. |
Ever since the SNES days there has been a lot of fanboyism. Back in the day there were a lot of genesis/SNES haters, sure we didn't have the internet to argue about it, but at school it was there for sure.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
