I don't remember falling through the ground constantly when playing the game, never felt like it was the game's fault when I died (that was actually a criticism that Sonic Colors had, difficulty spiked half way through the game, but I never heard that for Sonic Generations). Tbh I can't remember a Sonic game that had a strong story. |
No... As far as I'm concerned, Generations is the best recent Sonic game. But, even still, it's not a good game, lol. They just need to tweak the physics, and maybe do something about the stage design. Sometimes, I'm running around, no area where I'm going, and I jump off a cliff to my death.
That first super huge cliff in Green Hill act 1, when I jumped off that instead of hitting the bumper like I was supposed to, it was an obvious, and fair death. Most of the other times, it's like, "How was I supposed to know that was there?!" or, "WHY is that there?"
The funny thing is that I own all the original sonic games, but I can't think of any death cliffs, outside of the one from Mystic Cave in Sonic 2. And, now I've just started remembering more of them...
But, that's the thing too. They're just... more planned and thought out in the older games. In Generations, it's more random placement in Act 1, and in act 2, it's becuase you're not going the way the game wants you to go.
