Anyone suggesting that the problem with Bayonetta is that the game-play is too 'hardcore' might want to look at the success of the Souls games and the almost certain success of Bloodborne. The game-play has never been the problem. Where Bayonetta fails, in relation to those titles, is that it appears to draw its creative inspiration from The Witches of Breastwick. As I said before, it goes out of its way to make itself niche.
