Then you really don't understand just how small a company Nintendo is in comparison.

Sony doesn't have the money to pull off an aquistion like that. Starting cost for Nintendo would be $25 billion, probably realistically $30-$35 billion because these types of takeovers end up costing more than just book value. 

Sony doesn't have that kind of cash, they themselves probably aren't even worth that much. 

I think if Nintendo were ever up for any type of sale it would come down to Apple Vs. Disney with maybe Google getting in the middle knowing Apple's interest.
