Stockholm syndrome (probably not, just vaguely similar, but I wanted to say something that sounds intelligent)
if a man hits a woman over trivial things like "talking back", that means he doesn't even love her enough to control his impulses, he most likely thinks of her as his possession and what he really loves is his own ego
