Not exactly. Yes, several people from all fanbases do it but this is a thread about IGN and a Nintendo game. So the Nintendo part is not redundant the same way it will not be if we have a review from Polygon for Blooborne and Sony fans praise Polygon for it (despite their comments about the site as a whole after their The Last of Us review). No matter the score, I know I will still regard their review trash, because that's my view of Polygon and its complete lack of integrity. 

But hypocrisy is the religion of fanatics of every flag. I personally think of all reviews are just opinions, and I don't factor them into my purchases. But the practice of hating then accepting a reviewer based on whether they align with one's company of choice or not happens with Sony fans, Xbox fans, and Nintendo fans.

Obviously I couldn't agree more with your post. Fanboys will be fanboys and hypocrites. But there are hardcore fans who are not blind by their love for their favourite brand. And my point was that the only need for the "nintendo" part was that this thread is about a nintendo game. If sony fans do the same, call them out in a different thread (and I'm sure some will). I did notice though that when Polygon gave Gran Turismo 6 an 8.5, Sony fans didn't make a big deal about it and even said that the site is still trash. Not saying that Sony fans are better but in that case alone, they were consistent.
