A menu? Either that is a horrible menu or they are just nitpicking. I haven't played the game yet & am not saying it automatically should've been a 10. With that said, by the sound of the review, it is a 10 in this reviewers opinion. They want against it just to do it. 

I used to be that way, now, I feel a game doesn't have to actually be 100% perfect to get a 10.

Jose has his own beliefs on what makes a 10. He starts at 0, and the game works its way to a 10. The 10 being what the game was trying to achieve. That's how he rates a game. By how well they did what they were trying to do. Going by this, it could have been smash tour, meaning it didn't quite turn out how it was intended, or some other form. 

 

In any case, just know, he didn't take away .2, he added 9.8.
