There are more than 14M Halo Fans. All depends on ur defintion of Fans.
What about Uncharted Fans? 5M maybe or less?
What about Gran Turismo? Below 10M?
Mario Fans? 4M right now?
Yes, Halo 5 will sell less than Halo 3, but the hardware boost will probably be even bigger. It's way easier to boost a lower selling system. 600% for Mario Kart 8 is the best example. Or do u talk about absolut numbers? Because increase or decrease are in % generally. Otherwise it would be non compareable...
Halo 5 will still easily manage 8m+, and probably 10m. And what about the Cod decline since Ghosts? Where are all the shooter Fans? Maybe some will come back to Halo. Especially after the bad reception of Destiny. It all depeds, if the game will be a high quality top notch one and without launch issues, that spread bad word of mouth, like MCC.
But even 8m is more than Xbox Ones out there right now. Or is the Xb1 at 8m sold through now already?
