It's been recycled the least number of times, but honestly is the most similar to its original iteration which kind of makes it the most recycled.

To note, I think annual releases are a mistake and a ton of franchises have worn thin for similar reasons.  Likely why Wii Sports was so big (it was hugely different at the time), and why (imo) Splosion Man is one of the best games of last gen. I also never understood the re-purchasing of sport games every year, but then I'm not a big fan of em to begin with.

smash isn't recycled at all. there's a lot of effort put into balancing it and adding content.
