The Super Nintendo, Dreamcast, PS3, and Wii U, Xbox One come to mind as well as a few portable console. They will absolutely bury it in the eyes of the public. Then, as they attempt to undo the damage they've done, they totally reverse their opinions because a one side battle isn't really good for business. Now their looking at the Xbox One more objectively and seeing that it's a capable device. You don't really see this in other areas of the tech world. You don't see an all out assault on other car manufacturers, movie studios, phone makers, etc. The PS4 is the more capable and, at the time, more consumer friendly console. It deserved the positive press it got but the Xbox vs PlayStation battle shouldn't have been as one sided as it's been. The gaming media picked it's "Golden Boy" and ran with it. Microsoft deserved every single bit of hate that they got. That was pretty anti-consumer. Fans and media alike reacted to Microsofts actions .
