If people bash the Wii, Wii owners always have the "well just look at the sales charts arguement", so they don't let it get to them. If you bash an Xbox owner, they have the "well my software library is bigger than yours arguement".
When people bash PS3, their only defence is subjective arguement about why their system is better than the others, but no really solid defence that can be corroborated by data. So it bugs them that people can't see things from their point of view.
It may also be that there is a little more venom in the PS3 bashing due to the Nintendo and Xbox fans being on the receiving end for the last two generations.... |
I think you are spot on about everything except the bolded part. There is no quantitative reason why the PS3 is better than the other two consoles, but there are quantitative reasons why the other two consoles are better gaming solutions than the PS3. As for the bolded part, I think you have got it the wrong way around. I think a large number of PS3 owners bought their console in the belief that Sony would dominate as they have the past two generations. They either were unaware that this wasn't happening, or convinced it would happen shortly. Such gamers become immensly frustrated when confronted with the Wii's continued dominance and only a minor PS3 week-to-week sales advantage over the 360. Quite aside from the PS3's higher price point, many PS3 owners feel a far greater need to justify their purchase to others, due to the fact that said purchase was made with the anticipation of continued Sony gaming dominance that simply hasn't eventuated. Owners of the 360 and the Wii on the other hand, generally paid less for their console, and bought it knowing full well that dominance was unlikely due to the console's respective predecessors being trounced by the PS2. We should all feel at least some level of sympathy for Sony fanboys due to these points, as it must be incredibly frustrating for them. |
im sorry starcraft but this is complete trolling. PS3 owners have no reason to justify buying their purchase jsut like 360 owners have no reason to keep dealing with M$ customer support for their RRODs. They enjoy their console of choice. |
Seriously, which part of my post was trolling? I said in general, SOME ps3 owners feel a causal need to justify their purchase due to misconceptions as to the potential for the PS3's dominance this generation. This is especially apparent when one considers that the Xbox and GC were destroyed by the PS2. I bought the Wii to play old Nintendo favourites, and would never have felt the need to justify it beyond that. It's success is a bonus. PS3 owners often bought their console anticipating the sort of exclusive third party support and sales dominance the PS2 got and it just hasn't happened. I might add that if you seriously consider what I said to be trolling, then responding with "M$" and "Rrod" is a perfect example of you, a mod, responding to trolling with trolling. |
I think most of your posts dealing with the PS3 are trolling. You take jabs at the PS3 and PS3 owners. PS3 owners need sympathy? We are incredibly frustrated? There's no quantitative reason why the PS3 is better than the other consoles?
You do troll, whether or not you believe it. You just do it with proper spelling and grammar.
