The contrary would be Nintendo's competitors (basically the only other two manufacturers in the industry) going third party.

Oh, I suppose that really depends on the person. For me the features and everything else that PS/Xbox have are far superior to that of Nintendo's consoles, hence why them going 3rd party would be the preferred choice.


Just out of curiousity, how happy would you be if they chose to support Sony only in return for a more favorable seat at the table? 

IMO Nintendo will never ever accept grovelling like a regular third party. They've also seen what Sega's been reduced to. They'd never follow that path IMO. 

That would also effectively IMO wipe Microsoft out of the industry.
