#1 ioi for starters. When VGC wasn't updated after the 10M announcement and people asked why, ioi pretty much said "I don't know where the numbers come from, and I'm not going to trust just one source" and people on here followed suit.
#2 I don't know what the shipments are, myself, but don't you think it's odd that the shipments went from 7.4M at the end of September to "near 10M" 5 weeks later? On a console that barely moved 2 million throughout the year...moving over 2 million in October (which is still a slower month of the year)? You think that "near 10M" has nothing to do with bumping production up for the holidays (holidays always gives a boost in sales) in conjunction with a price cut and aggressive bundling (also helps boost sales) and then using those inflated figures to make things look "good" when they knew they were about to lose the NPD? That sounds like spin, to me. And it worked, because people here are really thinking that XBone is near or above 9M sold, when we have NPD, Chart Track, Media Create, etc. when added up, show that VGC is pretty close to what XBone has sold LTD

That's how it's gonna be, huh? You want specific names and specific posts? You're gonna ignore the general mentality on the forum that the 10M announcement wasn't trusted...because I can't find specific posts from 3 months back? That's just cognitive dissonance to make it seem like I, Gribble, and a few others just made that up. Kinda like a lot of Xbox fans on this site who swear that 360 owners didn't brag about better resolution, framerate, textures, etc last gen over the PS3 (lemme guess, "who? who were these people?", right?). Because I just imagined that for 7 years, just how I imagined people disagreeing with the 10M PS4s sold.
