48. Final Fantasy VI (SNES)

If you can't remember the SNES generation, you need to get and play this game. This truly is a showcase of the near perfection attained at the end of the 2D era. As far as JRPGs go, it's still one of the best around with a fantastic story and a diverse array of characters.

I've always wanted to beat this game, but it was remade so late onto the GBA, I'd already moved on. Still high on my TDL, I played it for about 4 hours and really loved it.

It's on mobile now if you want to give it a go. It's not the best version (they've "modernised" the character art) but the core game is the same brilliance.

That's actually where I was playing it, then I dropped my phone in the toilet and ended up switching carriers and devices. I'm hoping I can transfer the save file and migrate it to either my next phone (6 months), or my PSP. I own the GBA cartridge, but I never carry arround my GBA SP anymore.

Actually overall, for my 2015 list, I think I'll have a lot more classic RPG's. Not much on 3DS/Vita excites me, and I often play on the go. Plus my PSP plays PS1 roms.
