That is correct - once they sell their 3.6 million target, they will begin selling Wii U s at full manufacture cost on their books again - in other words selling at a loss-

Not necessarily, it depends on if Wii U manufacturing costs have gone down enough between May when he made that announcement and next March when he expects those 3.6 million to be sold. It's completely possible that Wii U is sold at a profit at $299.99 next fiscal year.

Considering they will barely have had to manufacture any Wii Us till then, any cost reduction won t be due to manufacturing efficiencies or high volume - it may even cost more then due to having to crank up the manufacturing process again -
