Oh he's not out of line...he addresses various things like "RE4 was killing Spaniards, why no outcry there?" He says because of the history that black people have in America, etc.

But I still think he's needlessly bringing race into the equation...not to mention I'm one of those people that don't care about slavery, that's in the past. And while some things might not work out evenly between races due to racism somewhere along the line, I don't see how bringing up slavery to people who have been free their whole lives is going to help.

I bet some news network will indeed bring up RE5 when it comes out and call it racist. And they'll have a panel of "experts" discuss it and unanimously call it racist. And they'll have some videogame-savvy person on the show and totally ignore what he has to say. And then we go on with our lives.

That is not he impression I got. I got the impression that he was basically saying why would Capcom set themselves up for all the scrutiny that will ensue. The mainstream media will label Capcom a racist company without cause or merit. I mean one only has to look at the Mass Effect controversy to see what will happen with RE5, except the RE5 controversy will most likely be bigger because it involves perceived racism.

Well then he's among the first to start this labeling against Capcom...I'm sure the media will be all over it...but since when did the media report correctly anyway?

Gamers tended to just pass off the remarks about Mass Effect being a "sex simulator" and whatnot...but when RE5 gets called racist, suddenly everyone's getting overly cautious and concerned.  I just don't see it as a big issue other than what the media will make of it.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
