The fact that it failed to outsell PS4 worldwide isn't that relevant.. what's relevant is that its sales tripled.
People need to look outside this console war mentality where by you're either a winner or a looser. I don't think MS even think they can catch PS4 worldwide this gen (not with the EU already having their mind made up) but they wanna regain as much marketshare as they can. I think particularly in NA and UK, where the XO appeared to to double PS4's sales this week
If the Xbox sold an extra 15k and outsold the PS4 worldwide would that really change value of the pricecut? Only for bragging purposes but otherwise no, not really.
