As much as I'm a massive Sonic fan, I must accept that I think it's over. The last Sonic game I loved was released in 2001 (SA2 of course). Since then it's been disappointment after disappointment. Rush and Colours were ok. Generations was mediocre in my opinion (completely on rails, none of the freedom of the Adventure games). 06 and Unleashed were flat out horrible. Boom Wii U, besides being a buggy mess, looks just really clunky and no fun to play. Boom 3DS is certainly that based off the demo.

Sonic can't bounce back from this. It's been too long. If it proves one thing, it's this. When did Sonic truly fall off the rails? When Sega became a third party company is when. I wonder what would happen to Nintendo's franchises if they did the same...I hope to never find out!

As for this waste of time BRB, if they want to blame the console they can, but the question then would be obvious. Why can Nintendo make stellar games for it and you produce a horrendous mess like this?
