Select users were discussing this on a select user's wall but neither were brave enough to make a thread about it, so here I am.

I realize this sounds harsh, but it's a real problem we've been dealing with around VGC. Moderators need not worry, I won't be pointing out certain people in this thread, hence why I kept the source inspiration secret.

As an example, let's say there's a prediction thread; all's well and tbone is probably the publisher so it's a very cheerful and happy ordeal. One user comes around and predicts that SSBU will outsell SSBB, another user takes to calling his prediction stupid and tells him that he's stupid for that specific post only. Both things are true, but that user would get banned for stating fact. Is this okay? I think not, if anything the user who predicted that outlandish prediction should get banned or warned, they should've taken a look at the thread and noticed the overwhelming decision that no, SSBU had no chance to outsell SSBB, but they went ahead and said SSBU would sell 20 million units; that's practically bait to people with common sense.

Again, that's just an example, but I hope it helps illustrate this point. Do you think stupidity should be a bannable offense? Banning people with stupid posts would surely help discussion continue forward instead of everyone attacking that one stupid post.

(Let's not get silly though; grammatical errors aren't bannable offenses. Their are people who just don't know better.)
