People tend to be more positive about things if they cared enough to pay for it in the first place.
I kinda wish Metacritic would somehow connect to PSN, XBL, or NN (?). It would give you a more accurate (if inflated) idea of the opinions of people who actually played a game instead of those who say, "Oh, I hate Sony. Uncharted 3 is a 0/10."
