Sonic Boom? Flop

Sonics future? It should be pretty simple but sega made the same mistake Bandai made with the digimon franchis; they've allowed more diversity then their competitor (mario/pokemon) which is good, but they let it go too far and failed to stick to a core gameplay exprience.

Sonic should exist in 2 states: Classic 2D sonic for handhelds and Digital only releases whilst we get the Sonic Adventure series released at retail for console. Sonic Adventure is one of those games that at the time was appreciated but aged horribly. Instead of panicing an releasing a completely unrecognisable sonic game each year they should have focused on perfecting the gameplay; managing speed versus control, adventure vs platforming... Instead they've been all over the place.
