as you can see, several BIG franchise were enough for PS2. =) So you dismiss this argument in a) and now you use it yourself? You've just proven yourself wrong. Several of these games that made the PS2 successful already appeared on PS3 and did close to nothing. You're mentioning MGS4 in your list (while its predecessors are ranking 22 and 23), while ignoring the numbers 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 18 and 20 on that list? Well done!
d) you expect tha WKS, T6, SC4, SH5, LBP, LR will totally have no effect on PS3 sales? And why you expect that Wii will always outsell ps3 by 40k? Maybe ps3 will gain in sales or Wii just drop?
I haven`t seen Monster Hunter doing great on Home console. Other games that you named are no more, then my games listed above in this paragraph.
I don't say it will do nothing, but look at Yakuza 3, probably a bigger game than anything besides Star Ocean (which isn't even certain to be a PS3 game) sold quite well, but boosted PS3 hardware with only 8000 compared to the week before and that with 12000 silver Yakuza PS3's being sold. I don't expect MH3 to sell like the latest PSP version, but you can't deny that the series has seen a dramatic increase in poularity. You can see that by comparing the PSP games with each other. MH3 will do better than the PS2 games.
PS3 will have great support of HD games in Japan, but probably by 2009, it`s needed time to create HD game and money.
@Gnizmo, the games you listed is something like WKS, T6, SC4, SH5, LBP, LR and my bad RE5.
Indeed, only MGS4, GT5 and FFXIII, FFXIIIv + maybe (SO4, KH3) is left for PS3 in 1 year time.
However, Wii has NOTHING that big, maybe pokemon? Actually NOTHING. You forget that since Wii is the leader a lot of games will come. Rumours of Kingdom Hearts and Suikoden might be false, but even then a lot of Japanese support will come to Wii.
Animal Crossing will probably sell more than MGS4, whether you like it or not. Same story for Mario Kart.
Nintendo hasn't released ANY info yet on its second half 2008 line-up, while Sony's main game will arrive somewhere in 2009. |
