Like, if you have one now, you can get customs for mk8, weapons for hyrule warriors, npcs for SSB and who knows what else in the future. So, as of right now, they might not be worth it but say if they integrate amiibo with all their future games (which they kinda are) and if you buy an amiibo now, it will give u stuff for the next 5-10 years on various titles, I think it might sell alot. |
So basically, it does what dlc does?

Indeed. It's like buying DLC one time and getting it for every game on the system. Also you get a beautiful figurine. And while there's no Amiibo game right now, you bet your ass there will be one eventually, in the Wii U's lifetime. There will probably be a 3DS version of it as well, to help sell the New 3DS, since that comes with the NFC reader built in. They might even make separate Amiibo games for Wii U and 3DS, or semi separate games with unique features like with Smash.
