It seems like it's the exact same thing as wearing a headset and sitting really close to a TV. I also don't see how it could be enjoyable outside of first person perspective, which would heavily limit the games it's useful for playing.
Of course I think 3DTVs are stupid with their glasses and eyestrain, so I guess it could just be a natural extension of hating stupid sh*t on my face?
