Heat Signature gets a visual overhaul courtesy of Gunpoint artist John Roberts
Heat Signature, Tom Francis’ spacey, ship-jacking romp, looks promising. Up until now, though, it’s also looked a bit ugly. No more! The game has had loveliness liberally applied to its surface.
The shiny new look is courtesy of John Roberts, Gunpoint’s artist, who recently joined the Heat Signature team. A trailer showing off the game’s new art is expected soon, but in the mean time you can slap your eyes on some screenshots.
Nival returns to the front with Blitzkrieg 3 and its asynchronous multiplayer
It’s been almost a decade since Nival dabbled in World War 2 strategy with Blitzkrieg 2. Since then, the studio has worked on Heroes of Might and Magic V as well as the iffy social spin-off for King’s Bounty, King’s Bounty: Legions. But now it’s returning to the front with Blitzkrieg 3, and it looks like there’s still life in the old war.
The Black Glove's Kickstarter fails, but Day For Night Games are "pursuing all options"
Hashtags and an endorsement from Ken Levine could not, unfortunately, save The Black Glove, the surreal exploration of art and artists from ex-BioShock devs. The Kickstarter ended on the weekend without reaching even half of the $550,000 goal.
Day For Night Games’ Joe Fielder says that it’s not over, though. “[W]e mean to fight like hell to keep it from being cancelled. We believe in the game and you all have shown you do, too.”
Far Cry 4 isn't getting a Blood Dragon spin-off, but don't count out another surprise expansion
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was a whole lot of stupid fun, a game where - just in the first 30 minutes - you punch a nuke, unleash dragons on enemies and stab, shot and fling shurikens at Daft Punk lookalikes. Ubisoft Montreal won’t be making a sequel.
Unfortunate, sure, but the reasons behind the decision make sense and are extremely unexpected for Ubisoft.
Iron From Ice is the first episode of six in Telltale's Game of Thrones, "premiering soon"
Telltale have been playing it pretty cool in regards to Game of Thrones, which makes the announcement that the first episode (of six) of the series, Iron from Ice is coming soon. “Your story begins,” reads the teaser tweeted by the studio today, suggesting again that the game will see players take on the role of characters not established in the books or TV show.
The Game Awards 2014 will compete with VGX over which will have the most trailers and announcements
December will now see another video game trailer and announcement show painted with the veneer of an award ceremony this year. Some might say that VGX is enough - or indeed too much - but not Geoff Keighley and big publishers and platform makers like EA and Microsoft4. So The Game Awards 2014 has been born.
It will compete with VGX, which Keighley also produces. The show will take place on December 5th in Las Vegas, featuring announcements, exclusive trailers and musical acts. Like VGX.
