@the_dengle: Absolute ridiculous post. Your "simulation" is way off. As I have a Wii remote to hand I tested your "simulation" vs the actual reality of pressing the 2 button. Pressing the 2 button was very straightforward in comparison.
I'm not going to tell you that the 1 and 2 buttons are positioned ideally for the vertical position because clearly they're not. The reason they are where they are is to make the horizontal position possible, and without this the Wii remote would be a far lesser controller. For games played in the vertical position, the 1 and 2 buttons are best deployed e.g. to bring up the map, or just not at all.
