That seems like an interesting idea. Besides, Sony and MS want you to buy games digitally (More DRM, no second-hand market, more profits). So the more people they can get off discs, the happier they'll be.
I would always prefer disc though. It costs the same as digital, and I have more freedom with the game (I could lend it to a friend, or sell it used). Discs also save on storage space. Having to change discs for games isn't that big a deal for me.
The only way to convince me to go all-digital is if the digital games cost less than their disc-based counterparts.
