I'd rather create my own character and the writers craft a story around that. I'm surprised the majority of fps games don't allow you to do that already given how the main character in them seems so bland, generic and untalkative.
Besides alot of times when I see female characters, they come off as trying too hard to be badasses, much like their male counterparts. The difference is, the female characters come off trying too hard while being 'sexy'. And then you have the whole slut debate which comes out of that, since as we all know, any woman who is sexy is in reality a slut /s. Although funnily enough, the type of female characters that don't fit into that other category are pretty much the same body type just different faces.
I have to wonder when video game designers will have main female characters adopt different body types, and not have all their black or non-white characters just be white characters with a tan and different eye sets. I guess its a marketing thing.
