Did you wait for the entire game to be installed? Cause if you haven't , then it will explain the black screen. you have to wait till at least more then 50% of the game installed first before playing it

The game is 100% installed. not just Halo 4, but the ENTIRE game.

Wouldnt even let me exit to the menu, i had to quit the game and reload it, then play through a fresh campaign to get past the issue.
On the second attempt the entire HUD dissapeared, and only came back after i quit to menu and loaded the level again.

Buggy, very buggy xD

You obviously have picked the ultra lengendary diffculty. Where  you have to beat the entire game, without knowing where your enemies are shooting or coming from XD
