The issue is with this mentality is that Watch Dogs is the most important release on the Wii-U to date. If the threats of a boycott are carried out and/or it sells terribly on release (less than even Wonderful 101), expect the end to come for third party support on the Wii-U. Game companies don't make games just for the fun of it. When they make a game, they need to actually sell copies of it in order to make back the money put into creating it and some profit for themselves on the side. Rather than waste money producing games with extra features for a system that will never leave store shelves, its a more sensible (and easier) solution to simply drop support for that system. As the best way to avoid ending up with several thousand unsellable discs is to not produce them in the first place, or produce them for systems the game will sell on. |
this game's sales have nothing to do with future support from third parties. that goes for bribery and bias, as usual.
