That point also makes me wonder what position SEGA will take once their exclusivity agreement ends with Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric this month. Sonic Lost World was an absolute disaster sales-wise, and I honestly think their Wii-U dev kits will be going in the bin unless Sonic Boom is a success.
Notable about Sonic Lost World: on release it also got a horrific amount of criticism from Nintendo fans (just like Watch Dogs is getting), as they claimed it was a ripoff of Super Mario Galaxy. In fact, it was based on the cancelled Saturn game Sonic X-Treme, and it wasn't the first time the gravity tube mechanic was featured in a released Sonic game (Sonic Adventure 2 (2001) had them in the stage "Final Chase").
