Exactly. People seem to think that the PS4 doesn't employ any DRM at all because Sony were against the DRM that MS wanted to use for the X1. There are different types of DRM that varies in restriction strictness. Not all DRM is bad.

Yeah, I doubt that. Sony is probably quite fine with that DRM so long as it doesn't alientate the consumer and drive them to other platforms. They saw the writing on the wall and made a business decision that it would be more profitable for them, and sell them more consoles, if they didn't have it. I'd beowning a Wii U, or nothing from the new gen right now if Sony and MS both adopted the MS DRM plan. So Sony's decision was good for at least one PS4 sale.

Also, if the speculation is Sony is already using it in PS3, PSV and PS4 doesn't that make "Sony looking to include..." somewhat mischevious and misleading?

If Playready is a standards essential piece of software then MS probably isn't making too much from it.

Maybe Sony did change their stance on the very restrictive DRM that MS wanted to use, maybe they didn't. The fact is nobody knows, we'll all probably be surprised what goes on in the background of these multi$M companies. But what we do know is the official stance that Sony took, that is fact. The rest is fanboy theories, rumors and speculation
