I can say I've seen quite a lot of people unhappy with the 3DS version being so inferior compared to the Wii U one, so not everyone is happy in this situation. I mean, of course it's stupid to think that the 3DS version should be as good as the Wii U one (which is what people seemed to want instead of the Wii U one being bad) since that's impossible due to hardware limitations, but people ARE stupid. Some people at least.

I haven't read a lot of comments about Smash 3DS, only thing i read was about gamers unhappy that Smash... smashed their joysticks!

Still, Mario Maker is a very simple game. Don't think there will be a big difference between a 3DS and Wii U, to be honest. Maybe more enemies or a visual style that can only be done on Wii U, but that might be it.
I think it can work well on 3DS compared to Wii U.
