Oh the last gen did suck for the series. But again that is ONE gen versus damn near every other gen that was fine. 14 is fixed. The newer version is much improved and they are making money on it. 12 is def not Windwaker. Not even close. More people liked it than hated it. ANd it was still a well crafted game. IMHO you are focusing on the very few negatives and ignoring the positives. You brought up 10 and that is a game that just had a rerelease that sold more than a million copies. A rerelease thats more than Xenoblade did, which just proves how much relevant FF series STILL is. Just because the director left doesnt mean 15 will suck. Im going ot assume that most of the game is done at least the real important stuff and he went on to continue KH3. That tells me that SE is doing proper time management. People keep coming back because for the most part the series had done wll. ANd Type 0 is coming out very soon and that is actually a good game. SO the series seems to be back on track.

You're assuming more people hate than like Windwaker? Not the case. (It sold more than a million copies on it's remake as well on an install base of around 3 million. Not to mention digital sales.)

Also a rerelease that did more than a game that was very limited in release? Hardly a bragging point.

no. Im not at all. Im assuming that not as much people hated FF12 as you are trying to say so any comparison to WW is moot. Really you could compare WW to 13 as that game is way more polarizing.

If that is the case then you really cant brag about Xenoblade numbers either. LR FF13 PS3 version ALONE did better than xenoblade either. And that was released later and on a system with a smaller install base. And that game wasnt that well received. But bragging wasnt my point or aim. Im simply stating that the FF series is so big that they will sell larger than just about any other JRPG series outside of maybe Dragon Quest

True, but brand recognition and empty promises can go a long way. FF XIII is the perfect example. (And I wouldn't want to brag about LR either.)

But that's even besides the point, it isn't a question of whether X will outsell Lightning Returns (which I'm positive will, hell once Xenoblade 3DS comes out it will surpass LR) I'm just saying FF is not the quality jrpg powerhouse it once was. For people wanting a truly epic jrpg, Xenoblade and Xenoblade X could be exactly where they go.
