I think it started devlopment on Gamecube, then moved to xbox before finally being developed for 360.

Bad planning much? Halo was being developed for multiple platforms before MS acquired Bungie.

Wouldnt have been too hard for Halo to move it's PC code over to xbox as they had similar archetecture no? Gamecube to xbox was probably a pain, then it was too late in the xbox lifecycle so it got moved to 360 for launch. By that point it was probably quite dated mechanically which didn't help its reviews too much.
