Caricatures are usually VERY simplified drawing. Notice how these lack much detail and shading. I dont see how what i have done gives you the impression of simple with not much shading or detail. The rest of what you said is your opinion and im not going to touch on it.

Caricatures don't just come in form of simple sketches. Lord no, what gave you that idea? While yours isn't a gross caricature, it skews that way, but the problem is general blandness of the whole drawing. Like I said, something you'd get made on a pier or a seaside promenade.
