Not quite. The PS2 had all major 3rd party games as exclusive titles, that is what made the difference and nowadays isn't going to happen because the context is different. Also the PS4 isn't going to obtain the same marketshare as the PS2. They could even lose US leadership after this holiday season.

It's possible but I don't think that's going to happen. Just check out the current listing of cod aw it's barely hanging on. In years passed it would stay on or near the top of the best sellers for weeks after release but not now. Also the Xbox cod bundle is dropping fast, which is very bad news considering that is Xbox's arguably biggest weapon and it's completely out of the top 20 in less than a week.
Meanwhile the ps4 is still around 13 even with all the bundles and price cuts going on. Gotta say the ps4 surprising the hell out of me.
