Dear oh dear.
The author says that fanboys need to stop pretending to be business men then goes and does a "first day of business school" take on Sony's situation himself.
Playstation is nowhere near keeping Sony afloat. As a division itself, it's doing very well, but revenue wise, it generates small potatoes in comparison to Sony's financial and insurance arms. Sony Pictures anyone?
In fact, if you look at Sony's Q3 financials, most of their divisions made a modest profit, which was then completely offset by massive losses in its mobile phone division. Even so, those losses are much less than they were in Q3 of the previous year, so in actual fact it looks like Sony may be just starting to turn things around.
