It boils down pretty conveniently to:
Sony is in trouble financially. Microsoft is not.
The Xbox One is in trouble. The Playstation 4 is not.
The rationale that wants to believe the former statement means that the latter statement will become reversed really can't be described as anything other than wish fulfillment, regardless of how in-depth that rationale attempts to dig.
