I look at game reviewers the same way as I do movie reviewers. They represent a certain demographic. Some of my favorite movies were panned by critics. Some critically acclaimed movies put me to sleep or worse. Just because a movie wins the Academy Awards doesn't mean I'll like it, in fact most winning movies bore the hell out of me.
I gave up on movie reviews a long time ago. Game reviews are headed the same way for myself. They represent a narrow demographic and if you're not in it, their scores are mostly meaningless.
