Found a Japanese script. Here is all the important stuff shown:

Walking the world

  • The first video shown is a portion of the Dascae region which will be on the demo
  • Events and enemy position removed/changed for this video to show just the walking
  • You can eat and gather information at gas stations
  • If you can see something in the background you can go to it
  • Depending on the shape of the ground Noct and friends walking animations will change
  • If you keep running you can see your friends tire and try to catch their breath
  • You can fish in streams, rivers, and the ocean!
  • You can fight the wildlife. As they are always active, be careful as they will attack if you get close
  • There are buildings in the forest with people living in them. You can enter some of these buildings
  • There are also animals that aren't enemies like cats and dogs
  • In order to make the mountains the developers actually climbed one. They might show a video of them doing this one day
  • Demons like the Naga or the Goblins will come out of the caves at night
  • It's dangerous at night and is safer to rest at a gas station or by other means
  • The party members dialogue will change in accordance to the time
  • A Chocobo was shown in the forest. Look forward to finding out more in the demo
  • The enemy airship patrols will sometimes land and fight you
  • Magitek Armor will make an appearance. (was not meant to have been said)
  • The Dascae region is as a large as 10% of the game

This sounds really good!!!

Gather information?  I guess some extra tidbits either on the main story or not can be found at Gas stations.

Also since they mentioned fishing in the Ocean I think this pretty much confirms boats and/or submarines as forms of transportation.  Although I do have to wonder whether or not the location of Lucis was right by the Ocean when Noctis jumps into the water at E3 2013.  SE can be deceptive as hell in what you're expecting to happen.  They did this with the frickin character switching in the TGS 2014 demo by clearly switching between character POVs as well as to a Frog ...then later they confirmed that Frog status and character switching aren't a part of the game, wtf?

For all we know they would pass that part off as the ocean and say "you can fish there" without realizing they got our hopes up in that we'd be able to travel the open seas, but we can't.

Character switching was indeed a part of the gameplay mechanics, but was later cut out because apparently it did not mesh well with everything they got going on. As for the frog status, it was a joke by the developers... it was never implied that it were going to be in the game, and this was stated from the first day.

I expect fishing to still be in the game though! I don't see any reason why it would be taken out considering that they have already confirmed that the world will be filled with events and things to do. I'm actually very excited about this particular feature! I hope they make it deep enough because I myself plan to spend hours fishing.

The first day of what?  The TGS 2014 demo?  There wasn't a translation for that thing until later.  There might have been some people who understand Japanese who explained some of this on websites  somewhere, but I know I couldn't find any at that time.

What I do know is that they showed switching between all the characters as well as to a frog.  I'm so hoping this game is going to be incredible, but SE don't seem to understand certain things that people can easily mistake.

And likewise, just because something wasn't said to be in a game doesn't mean it isn't.  What is being shown tends to be more enticing as evidence of something anyways and SE just reeled a lot of us in with that stunt.  It's good that they clarified that before it got too out of hand, but I suspect that even more people don't know about this.

I think most people that will buy FFXV don't even realize that character switching was taken out.  They probably assume that based on the E3 2013 trailer it's still in.

Yeah, the demo was in Japanese so it's understandable how the misunderstanding might have happened... but imo I don't think many people care about the frog status being in there, although I know what you mean.

As for the character switching... well, people's memory of the game will not be derived entirely from the E3 2013 trailer, in fact people will have forgotten about it by the time the game is released because there will be newer trailers, commercials, etc... so people's expectations of the game will depend on those to a larger extent. Moreover, SE has been very open and talkative about the game lately so I'm pretty sure we will be informed of what is actually in the game by the time we get it.
